Real data applications

Radioactivity

The first test application for the software developed within the INTAMAP project was on the gamma radiation data of the european radiological data exchange platform (EURDEP). We can here see how the observations have been interpolated to a map for all of Europe. These observations are based on the measurements from national and in some countries regional radiation authorities, all with different strategies and measurement networks. It is quite easy to notice the large difference in network density, from the countries in Central Europe (Germany, Netherlands, Austria, Czcheck Republic), to the countries in Northern and Southern Europe, where considerably larger regions are influenced by single measurements.
