Using INTAMAP

INTAMAP Clients

Mobile devices client

The mobile phone based client, written in Java can be obtained from the Google Code project.

Usage

The mobile phone client can add observations (using the device GPS if this is present and enabled) and send interpolation requests to INTAMAP. The request is for the mean and variance, and the resulting predictions are overlain on Open Street Map data to show both the most likely prediction and the uncertainty, as shown below.

Usage instructions are available on the GoogleCode project wiki. The client is designed to work in low bandwidth environments, and makes use of some simple web services hosted at Aston University to wrap the more complicated INTAMAP WPS, amking it more suitable in the low bandwidth setting.
